General Purpose Polystyrene (abbreviated GPPS) is a transparent polymer with the following characteristics: excellent heat resistance, high stiffness, suitable dimensional stability and low density. Due to its clarity and ease of processing, GPPS offers many advantages compared to other polymers. Moreover, it is relatively cheaper than other polymeric resins.
GPPS can be easily moulded, therefore, it is widely used to make encasement products such as CD cases, plastic cups, IT equipment, toys and so on. GPPS is also used in the medical industry to produce test tubes and kits, tissue trays, etc.
