Ammonia (NH3) is one of the commonly produced industrial chemicals in the world. Ammonia is a colourless inorganic compound with a characteristic pungent smell. It is essential for many biological processes and has various industrial applications.
More than 80% of the ammonia produced by industry is used for manufacturing agriculture fertilizer. Other common applications of Ammonia include refrigerant gas, for purification of water supplies, and as additive in the manufacture of plastics, explosives, textiles, pesticides, dyes and other chemicals. It is also found in some domestic and industrial-strength cleaning solutions.
